ESTATE PLANNING

At the planning end of the design spectrum TEC has been heavily involved in the development of large ‘Greenfield’ sites. TEC provides planning and urban design input and regularly acts as head consultant leading a skilled multidisciplinary team of sub-consultants. Clients are from both government and private sectors. TEC is usually involved from the initial ‘Concept Planning’ phase through to the preparation of estate Lease and Development Conditions. TEC often reviews subsequent estate Development Applications on the Client’s behalf.

Wells Station
Client: Land Development Agency
Location: Harrison ACT

TEC provided planning, urban design and architectural consultancy services for “Wells Station” and has prepared Lease Conditions and Development Requirements (L&Ds) for the 623 residential blocks comprising the estate. “Wells Station” was the LDA’s inaugural venture into land development in the ACT and drew on successful prototypes at “Yerrabi” and “Palmerston Rise”. “Wells Station” is an award winning land development project.

Yerrabi Estate
Client: Gungahlin Development Authority
Location: Gungahlin ACT

TEC undertook outline planning and prepared the Master Plan for this innovative estate. It marked the return of the ACT Government to land development and incorporated a number of significant environmental initiatives. TEC went on to prepare the Estate Development Plan and the Lease & Development Conditions for this award winning land development project.

Palmerston Rise
Client: Gungahlin Development Authority
Location: Gungahlin ACT

TEC provided planning, urban design and landscape consultancy services for this groundbreaking project. A key objective was to test a variety of planning and streetscape initiatives for future urban housing in the Gungahlin Town Centre. The estate comprised approximately 230 townhouse, courtyard, cottage and standard detached blocks. It tested a range of innovative subdivision approaches including rear lane housing, above garage surveillance units, and shared driveway 4 pack housing.
